Immediate Recovery: The First 24 Hours
Most patients experience minimal downtime after a P-Shot procedure. You may notice mild swelling, slight bruising at the injection site, and increased sensitivity in the hours following treatment. These are normal signs of the healing process and typically resolve within 24–48 hours. You can usually return to desk-based work or light activity the same day.
Week 1 Recovery
During the first week, avoid sexual activity and strenuous physical exercise to allow the PRP to work undisturbed. Any residual swelling or bruising will continue to fade. Some patients temporarily experience slightly reduced erectile quality in weeks 1–2 as tissue remodelling begins — this is a normal phase and should not cause alarm. Begin gentle use of a vacuum erection device (VED) from day 3 if recommended by your doctor.
Returning to Normal Activity
Most patients return to full normal activity — including sexual activity — within 72 hours. There are no restrictions on travel, and most patients who fly to Turkey for treatment are home and comfortable within 36 hours of the procedure. Long-haul flights are perfectly safe post-procedure. By week 2, the vast majority of patients are fully back to their regular routine.
Recovery Tips to Maximise Results
Following your doctor's aftercare instructions carefully is the single most important factor in your recovery and results. Key tips include: staying well hydrated, avoiding NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen) for 3–5 days post-treatment as they can reduce PRP efficacy, beginning VED therapy from day 3, and maintaining overall cardiovascular health.
